im stuck on the starting screen

You have to press Space 2 times to reach the menu

I cant get this to run, it might just be my pc. its pretty old

what are ur specs?

32 bits :c

Is there sound for the game? I downloaded the "V01g fixed" file but no sound seems to be coming through. There is an "Ambient Sound" setting in the game, but I can't even hover over it.

The whole art of the game needs to be polished, right now it looks very sharped and poorly worked.

Thank u for elaborating. My foundation in drawing is not that strong so I am heavily dependent on references for now

Are you doing an Android version

I will look into it, but I think it would require some work so it's not my priority

Is there a roadmap for this project? What is the goal here? Have you planned and mapped it out yet? Not trying to sound rude or anything, just wondering. It most likely is your first attempt at game development, so respects to that.

I generally think that the most important thing in the process of creating a game, is to know what you want to make. Then start focusing on the gameplay aspect and making sure that the mechanics are just right. It is very important in a game where the gameplay features more than just pointing and clicking with your mouse, that it gives off a smooth and satisfying feel, and works as intended. Most of the time, it might just be the format of gameplay that doesn't particularly give a responsive result.

I don't necessarily have a particular point in this comment, other than that I think brainstorming and thorough planning of a project is what makes or breaks a game in the end.

As for your game project as it stands now, it isn't bad. If you are serious about this, then keep going and keep improving. You definitely got the creativity for it. And to be honest, in my humble opinion, I think art/graphics comes in second when creating a game. If the game has good gameplay and a satisfying format, then the quality of the art isn't as important to me. Always good to find a perfect balance between quality and quantity. At least, that is what I think.

Anyways, good luck with your project, and keep going. Cheers!

Thank you for the insightful comment. It got me thinking, by only doing this project I can only learn about 2D games, 2D art and some storytelling. But nothing about 3D games.

Therefore, starting from the next month, I will start working on a 3D game as well.

As for this game, Fteria, I will be adding a new witch boss fight and some story every 2 months. I have a specific ending for the story, but for the boss fights, I could make those indefinitely.

Glad I could be of any help. Just like any profession or hobby, it takes time and effort to learn it. I hope you find joy in what you do, and I will be sure to check your upcoming projects as well.

I know for a fact 3D can be a bit more difficult, considering all the models and stuff. Just take your time and don't feel like you have to rush something out for the sake of it. It is important to have fun making games, and have it not feel like a daily chore.

Just keep on going forward, and keep a positive attitude along while improving. A happy mind is a peaceful mind. Cheers!

Great game can't wait to see where it goes

There are A LOT of bugs. Gameplay is super hardcore, 1 shot on us but like 1000 for the enemy?! Why can't we have the same cloth removal mechanics for HP?, Could have Mouse interaction for the menus, gets stuck after interaction scenes even for gallery.

Artwork is there, but the game aspect is super rage-y.
You need to seriously work on the game flow.
I'm trying to help with this critique btw, you have a good start here.

Great constructive criticism:

-I was planning on adding clothes removal as HP indicator (3 hits before game over)

-for getting stuck, all the scenes respond to the Escape key, either by going to previous scene or showing a menu

-a boss stage has 9 hits on health, while the animation for the next stage is played the boss takes no damage, so to defeat a boss you need to pass the 3 stages so the health is at least 27 hits

-for bugs I am only aware of the dash frame remaining instead of idle

-for game flow I could minimize the boss's attack timing
